It would be great to have an option to make a Player either run video OR audio.
Right now I am using a PB Player PRO to run 4 audio tracks, I understand that I can use my Manager for audio, but this doesn't help when my client wants all audio and video to come from one place - and not FOH.

If I could turn on an "audio mode" that would get rid of my video layers and maybe add 12 audio layers or something... OR maybe a separate "audio player" license?

are we talking about ASIO Audio, or just playing out audio from the internal audio card?
If you just want to output and do not want to use an external ASIO-card, you can assign audio to a video layer and use the internal audio card to output this.

The reason for having the synced audio within the manager is, that this is the unit which is generating the sync. 48kHz of audio samples cannot be easily synced over a network connection.
