Warping from Manager

Postby JustynR » Fri Dec 28, 2012 6:21 am

It would be very nice to not have to open a VNC program, quit (or minimize) the client, open the warper and warp from a VNC window.

I had a person I was training come up with a good idea.
Maybe we could do something like apply a test pattern, texture or video to a layer, maybe drag something to that layer on that client that would allow us to change the FFD right from the preview in the Manager... he said the same kind of way we can move and scale layers in the Manager.

My only add on to that would be a way to export this as a .x file to be able to use it on an Output layer.

I think that asking for a way to change the mesh might be too much to ask... but maybe not....?

Thank you very much & see you in a few days :D

It's allready possible.
You find instructions in the manual under dynamic warping.

I understand the Dynamic Warping, and I've had some fun with it on a couple of shows...

I was looking for a way to make it EASIER on site to Warp.

If I was to use the Dynamic Warping, I still have to open the Warper on the Client, create a Target Object apply it and then patch the artnet values...

After that's done, I need to create a Warp Device in PB, Patch it then put the Target Object on a layer, a Test Pattern and then the Dynamic Warping Effect on that layer.

I was looking for a way to click a button to put up a FFD grid or something on the Preview that you can edit without having to go through 15 minutes of setup to be able to change your warp in the Manager.

Cheers

Hi Justyn,

I would always recommend to stick to the "old" way and open the warper on the client. Even when it would be "easier" to setup the remote warping you still do not have any reference on the screen. I always like to see the position of my selected mesh on the real projection in order to know where I am navigating.

A complete implementation of the warper into the PB software is - as far as I know - somewhere on the roadmap, but not planned within the nearest future.
