Keyframe path indicators

I was working with the Curve Editor the other day and thought that it would be nice to implement the following.
1. Add a switchable view option in the preview window that displays a line which indicates the keyframe path of the selected x and y position parameters. This would give you an instant visual idea of the direction, position and location of your move (see attached image)
2. Add keyframe icons to this line for the selected parameter
3. Clicking on the keyframe icon would navigate you:
1. To the corresponding position of the keyframe on your timeline
2. To the matching keyframe in the Curve Editor
