Weird Asio Behavior in 5.5

Postby cyeary » Tue Aug 06, 2013 10:29 pm

SO if I have a wave file and am playing it back with all defaults in the volume track everything seems fine. However if I start to put any keyframes in the timeline for volume it begins to sound all garbled and distorted. Some of my eave files i can do this very predictably. Some I cannot.

For now I have the audio guy running all the fades and such but its very much a pain.

I have tested both with ASIO4ALL and MOTU Ultralite. Same thing.

I had something similar happen, but when I ran the file through Audacity it cleared it up.

I did not try the file in an older version to compare though. Did you? Keep in mind the PB is much pickier about audio files than a normal playback program like Quicktime or VLC. Exporting from Audacity will standardize a wav and make it PB ready.

Hi,

hard to tell. You you provide one of these WAV files for us to test?
Also what hardware are you running PB on? Please send the log files to support(at)coolux.de together with a short report on your hardware and OS and a copy of the WAV file.

Matts suggestion worked. I at first did not think this was is because I thought I had done this but then realized I had tried a new converter. I think it was the culprit.

Thank you.

I have the same problem. Did you changed something in the Audiofile, or did you just exported it again via Audacity?

Export the Audio in Audacity as PCM Wav.
Delete all Meta Information like Title, Composer, ...

Can you also please send us the file that is not working, so that we can analyze it and figure out where the problem is.
Please email it to Support(at)coolux.de with a command that Daniel Kaminski has requested this file.
