FBX use inside warper

Postby cyeary » Thu Jul 18, 2013 6:50 pm

So I am trying to export a FBX from C4D to use in the new 5.5 warper and having a hell of time getting it to work. Does anyone know what the export setting should be? I have tried about 6 different combos of settings now with no luck. Each time it goes thru the import motions but then the screen shows nothing.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

does the new object show up in the list? (next to the "Edit" button)?

Best regards

Yes it says 3d FBX obj1. Something is indeed there but it is no where close to what it should look like. What program have you guys used in your testing?

Hi Cameron,

I spoke with the developer and he explained me that fbx files are tricky and not always work.
Apparently there are different fbx Versions. Files up to fbx Version 2010 should be supported.

If you have trouble please send us the fbx file and the settings your exported it with at support(at)coolux.de

Also please try using 3ds files since those files generally work with less problems than fbx.

Yes 3ds are working fine. The reason I really want to see what fbx does is because 3ds always come in as traingles instead of 4 sided polygons. This can cause some weird stretching if you are doing some severe warping.

I will test some more and see how things look.
