Blender setup for warper

Good morning,
what are the settings in blender to be able to export an fbx file to be able to import it into the warper as I see it in blender?

Thanks, Alberto

yes, Dennis had already read it.
Only when I import the fbx file in the warper do I always have to resize to 10 to be able to see it.
But doing the resize so randomly I do not know if it's the right way to import it.

Does the warper manage fbx that contain an animation or do we necessarily have to export every single fbx frame?
If the warper does not manage fbx with animation, does anyone know how to export to fbx automatically, every single frame, of an animated scene?

Thanks, Alberto

Hello Alberto,

Apologies for ignoring some of your questions now, but what's the point of exporting to fbx when there is a perfectly good way of exporting from blender to Pandoras Box/Warper? (namely: .x animations)

Regards
Dennis

still an information, when I export my animation in an animated file x can I manage it in the warp?

from the warp I can export it as a morphing object?
Should I then save the first frame of the animation in the x format to create the index file from the warp?

thank you and sorry for the trouble

Ok, now I have a directx file animated.
the animation is inserted because I see it with a directx viewer
If I open that file in the warper nothing happens.
What should I do to create the sequence now?

Thanks, Alberto

For me, GMax is very uncomfortable
Unfortunately, the Blender / Pandora couple is not totally compatible.
If you export a few frames ok, you can export them in 3ds or directx and they are read perfectly, but if you have to export, for example 100 frames?
They must be exported as obj, but unfortunately the warper does not read them and does not convert them to directx correctly,
I used 2.79 blender
I do not know if the problem is pandora or blender but this is it

Hello,

one of them you have to convert to an index object. That is basically a 3D object with only vertices and no coordinates. Then convert all to morph targets. The morph tagets are pngs you can put in an image sequence that you can layer-share into the effect.

I don't have the time to try myself right now, so if you need more help please get in contact with support or maybe somebody else around here can help.

Regards
Dennis

thanks Dennis,
I know the steps and I tried with the help of this guide http://forum.coolux.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3147&p=11145&hilit=interactive#p11145 and it worked all right away.
Only that I wanted to try something of mine and with blender.
I've tried all the export combinations but it does not work the obj file of blender in the warper does not work right.
I will follow your advice and send a frame obj to the support.

Alberto

.... meanwhile someone can share an obj file that is read in the warper?
Of all the files downloaded or generated by me there is not one that the warper can display and to generate an animation you have to use some obj files because the directix are not saved frames by frame but in a single animated directx file

Thanks, Alberto

Hi Alberto,

no it's not possible to import obj's in warper.
Or to batch an obj sequence to a morph sequence.
there was an release few years ago that i used in the training in cologne where this feature was working but i don't remember wich and i don't find it.

I was on the same point like you last year april and talked to coolux but nothing changed.

the only solution they told me is to export .x files frame by frame, (maybe write a python script for that) but than you have to convert every single .x file to a morph file.

Sorry for that. I tryed to find different solutions with converters and different obj exportert but i had no luck.

Maybe we "wait for the next release"

Best,
Benni

Hi Alberto and the coolux team ;-)

i got it!!! :-D:-D:-D

I found a solution with .3ds files.

1. Export obj animation from blender
2. batch the obj animation sequence to a .3ds sequence.
i used http://3doc.i3dconverter.com/ to batch to a .3ds sequence. (there are 2 options. You have to use "3D Studio Binary Mesh (*.3ds)")
3. batch this sequence to a Morph sequence in warper
4. convert the first .3ds file to a Index Object.
5. Import the morph sequence as an Imagesequence in PB
6. Add the Index Object
7. assigne the Morph Image Sequence to layer 1 with opacity 0
8. assigne the Index Oject to layer 2
9. add the Warp Target Effect to layer 2
10. use share layer texture on the warp target FX and chose layer 1

:-D

good luck.
Best,
Benni

Great Benni !!!!!!!!
I did it, it's a little complicated but it works !!
That is not that it is complicated that you need an external software instead of doing it directly from the warper.
I hope that in the future, not very far  , be implemented.

Anyway, thanks again Benni

Hei Benni I can see the animation but I lose the mapping.
Now I'm using a warper 5 because version 4 can not find it.
I also use the 6.4 version of 3d converter.
With blender I can not even save a simple cube in the obj format to load it into any version of the waper, and then I can not correctly orient the coordinates for the manager.
These are days that I try to do this thing but so far there is always something missing.
Only if blender would export seals directx frames would be all very simple.
Even if the waper correctly read the obj would be even simpler.

For the moment I am forced to abandon

Thanks anyway :D
