Hi,
we are working into a project where 6 output are going to be used. The possible configurations would be one computer with 4 and another one with 2, or one with 6.
We are going to build our own media server, and i would like to hear your experiences with graphic cards. The show is not going to be very heavy, and the rest of configuration s going to be latest i7, plenty of ram, ssd...

Thanks in advance

I know of a few people who have tried to use all 5 outputs of a Nvidia 1080 with no luck.

A tested way of doing this is to use two Quadro cards and a Nvidia Sync card.

This way, you can configure a "Mosaic" setup that will span the Windows Desktop across both GPUs.
You can then use Pandoras Box to sub-divide the outputs into 6 discreet Pandoras Box outputs.

Please let me know if this make sense,

Another way of doing this for us is 3 computers, one as backup of any main one (is going to be 2 separate screens, one with 4 outputs and another one with 2)
What about ATI cards? i know the w9100 and so...but still very expensive. but what about rx series, vegas...and all those cards? those computers are going to be used only with player software, no further use for other purposes.
Also, any experiences with amd ryzen processors?

Hi jldpaula,
No ATI, no AMD.
It's made for Nvidia and Intel.
The support guys will have a hard time trying to support you if you use non-recommended hardware.

Hello,

Have a look at Pandoras Box custom hardware.

Experience shows that nvidia drivers are usually more mature and stable. Have a look at our download page to see the driver versions that we use and stick with them if possible.

Dennis

And on other way, would be 1 Quadro GPU M4000 or P4000 and 2 Datapath FX4.
That will give you up to 8 HD Outputs.
And you do not need the Sync Board.

I´ve been thinking on datapath also...but is possible to make a 6xFHD blending using this? (4+2 i think)
About graphic card, i´ve been looking at the new gtx2080 and quadro p4000...for almost the same price (+/- 300€) the behaviour seems higher on the 2080 but as i know, the benchmark tests that are made for gamming are not fair with the quadro cards as they are intended for another use. For playback purposes, it is recomended a quadro card vs gtx?

I do not understand your blending question? Please explain.

GTX2080 vs P4000:
Do you want to be a gamer or a professional media server person? Just kidding.
P4000 will give you much more features you really need. Like EDID Management and Moasik Mode.
