I just recently received the dongle update file to V8, my dongle is on V6.
the question is, will the dongle still work for V6 once I apply the new file?

on a separate note, I have a client whose servers are still running V5, can I have my V6 dongle run V5 for when I do work with this client?

Yes!

When an update is applied, we only add a license to the dongle, we don't remove anything.

I have a dongle that has V4 on it!

So yes, if the dongle already has these licenses on them, they'll support V8 as well.
