Scaling on high dpi monitors

Postby arighetto » Sun May 07, 2017 10:02 am

I'm having some problems with WD 6 rev 4498 free.
Running it on o 4K high dpi display with 200% scaling set from Display Properties in Windows 10 the interface is unusable.
Right click menu is shown with small text as the resolution is not scaled, while submenus are shown in the correct way. Buttons, faders and the other widgets are scaled 2 times, I think 200% by windows and 200% by WD.

I've already tried some workaround (http://pocketnow.com/2016/01/25/hidpi-s ... windows-10) but the results are not perfect, the scaling is wrong when in edit/move mode.

I attached a screenshot of the problem (please notice that the phisical desktop resolution is 3840x2160 while the uploaded image is scaled down to fit forum rules).

Is there any way to fix this behaviour?
Thank You
Alberto

Hi,

the answer right now is : do not scale your desktop, use 100% scalling or if everything is to small use a bigger monitor or a lower resolution.
We are aware that this is not the answer you like to hear, and that it is not an ideal or perfect solution, but at this point it is the solution to your problem.

I am also having issues with Widget Designer V6 not being usable with any type of Windows 10 Display Scaling. Please look into having this issue resolved ASAP.

Sincerely,
Marcus

Don't use scaling, try changing the resolution of your display.
That's what works for me.

You have to set the resolution of your windows display, not in Widget Designer.

This has been an issue for years now and smaller notebook screens with 4k resolution become more and more common. Are there any plans to fix the scaling since changing the resolution everytime you need WD is really not that convenient?
