I've been working on a widget that is basically an alternative to Christie's "Power tools." I'm trying to make the COM connections work. I'm currently using a USB to db9 cable as my connection.
I opened up the COM connection manager in Widget designer and added a new connection. widget designer recognized my cable in the port menu as COM3. I matched my settings on my laptop in my device manager (this cable is an edgeport/serial port cable) with the rs232 in settings on the projector.
I chose in my rs232 "in" option menu on my Christie 16K-J projector then matched this in widget designer "COM connection"
baud rate @ 115200
serial flow control(rs232 in) @ none
serial mode (rs232 in) 8N1
serial protocol - not sure if I should choose "christie protocol" or "raw"
In the status window of widget designer, it says "started"
I made 2 custom script buttons. One using christie key commands(that represent buttons on a projector's remote)
COMSend(1,"(KEY44)")
and one that is a custom script (a shutter command in this case)
COMSend(1,"SHU1")
not getting either one of these custom buttons to work but I've validated a connection by having the test window open of the connection I created in the COM manager, then initializing the projector and getting a really crazy message in said test window. Do usb/serial cables have know problems? do these scripts look right? Thanks so much for your help guys!
