hi all,
i'm building a webserver control with wd 6.0.6.

does anyone of you know of a good kiosk app, mostly ios devices, with the following features:
always fullscreen (no title, menu bars...)
lock rotation
app icon can be custom named on homescreen
app can be locked to the same startpage when opened

i have found some,
but they are not really great..

subscription models don't work... (or, are not preferred...)
one time charge is ok.

any feedback would be awesome!

thx,
best,
Roman

I also have not found many (any) good options for iOS.

There are about 20 good options for Android.

(Everything I have is iOS at home... I have 1 Android Tablet for this exact reason!)

Hello,

Just mentioning Guided Access here because it is a good solution if you want to lock down to a single app.

Dennis

I've found a great app for this - very affordable too:

SureFox

https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/surefox-kiosk-browser/id672615828

Very customizable,
Has password options - you don't need to use guided access, the app can disable buttons and other apps natively.

Hi Justyn,
thx for the tip!

based on my recent experience,
i completely dropped apple devices from my list...
no matter what browser i used,
all had re-connecting errors...
on my last project we switched to MS Surface with chrome as the browser.
i still have a chrome installer version, that runs up to (as of today...) current win10,
is configurable in kiosk mode, you can also do that with startup scripts (batch files).

it somehow seems to be a problem with ios and it's web functionality that it doesn't work with WD (using V6.1.0)...
to be more precise,
when an ipad is connected to an active wd browser
and, for example, to simulate either wlan loss or battery down,
you turn off (kill) the ipad,
turn back on,
voila, re-connection errors...
making the ipad unusable...

at the same time,
i had up to 4 or 5 pc's with chrome running,
plus 2 ipads,
all the chrome pc's stayed stable,
just the ipad crashed, both...

to be honest,
i currently do not recommend any ios devices for advanced multiuser scenarios with WD...
any windows based system with chrome works 100%

have not tested any android systems...

thx,
best,
Roman
