AirScan Manager don't work

Postby odcheban » Tue Apr 26, 2022 10:44 pm

I am trying to set up several (5) airscans at the same time. Why does only the first airscan (id 1) always work for me? For example, if I put the settings of the second airskan in place of the first, then the second airskan will work, but not the first and so on.
In the settings of each airscan, under INFO - points are defined correctly.

I attach a screenshot of the airskan settings, I can send the project if necessary.

Hello,

How does your setup look like exactly? Do you have any drawings?
In your settings each AirScan's location is the same: x= 0, y=0. Depending on your setup you need to enter the related position in [mm].

If you need further help please reach out to our support team, they're happy to assist. Please list your steps and attach the projects to your e-mail (support.pandorasbox@christiedigital.com).
A video of your steps and the AirScans behaviour would also help. You can upload your files to wetransfer/ GoogleDrive.

Cheers,
Yvonne

Hello Oleg,

Did you receive our response from the support team? Please find the message below:

Thanks for the information and the attached files.

Please note that the unit of "Location X and Y" is [mm] and orientation in degree. Please make sure that the measurements are as precise as possible and be careful,
any bit of change of orientation will multiply with the distance from the airscan units.
https://christiepandorasbox.com/root/do ... irscan.htm

The first step when using multiple AirScan's is to define a zero point in your real setup. That can be for example the left upper corner of your screen or the position of AirScan 1.
That would mean position AirScan 1: x1 = 0; y1 = 0
Then you measure from there in x direction the distance in mm between AirScan 1 and 2. When the next AirScan is mounted higher/lower then please also measure the y difference.
AirScan 2: x2 = x1 + distance
AirScan 3: x3 = x2 + distance
etc.

After that you need to define the region. Either by measuring width and height [mm] or by using the setting "Draw Region".

Does it help?

Best Regards,
Yvonne

Good afternoon, thank you for your reply. Are the Resolution, Range(x,y,w,h) settings defined correctly?

Thus, I need to work on:
- Location (correctly measure the distance between Airscan in mm)
- Definition of the area. Do I need to change the areas on all airscans? What would the area look like approximately? Do you have a video tutorial? The areas worked fine in single projects, but if you use them all together (airscans) - do you need to recalibrate?

Hello Oleg,

Sorry for the late response.

The setting resolution is the resolution of your Widget Designer GUI (width and height), in your case: 1920x216 Px. The Active Region will later map to this resolution.
The range will be definded by using "Draw region" and you need to change the range for each AirScan. And you also need to calibrate each AirScan seperately.
There is no Tutorial about the AirScan Manager available, unfortunately.

Could you please explain your setup in more detail? In the end it should be possible to click several buttons on the Pandoras Box Output and then in WD the according buttons are clicked? Is that correct?
If so, this is working fine for one AirScan, but not for all together? How do they behave at the moment?

Cheers,
Yvonne

Before the release of the update in which it became possible to use multiple airscans - I used 5 projects and they all worked, the calibration was done correctly.
Now to use all of them in one project - I have to recalibrate?

About my setup:
Each of the airscans works properly, I checked on single projects (5
projects, 1 project = 4 buttons);
Only the first airscan works together, the others do not work but
respond to position changes in the "Airscan Properties" window:
- picture, when I point to the center of the "7" button and do not see
the pointer (blue dot), reactions to pressing:

- image when I point to the center of the "4" button:

- the image when I change the location settings in airscan-2 and point
to the center of the "7" button:

Hello Oleg,

If you look at your image of the 4 Airscans.
They are all reffering to the same part of your 7680 pixel width
Airscan 2,3 and 4 need to have an incremental offset applied:

Thank you, I studied the documentation and unfortunately the problem is not solved.
Are you talking about the parameter "Location"?
Changing this parameter did not solve the problem, the process described in the post above
