Com Port Input...Seemingly no data received

I am using the bare conductive touch board to simply output the number of the terminal that is being touched eg 0-11 as a single integer.

This outputs fine to the Arduino serial monitor, however, when I create the com connection in WD (correct com port/rate etc.) and I test the input through the com port input node, the output box only ever shows a flashing 0 and I don't seem to get any data when terminals are touched.

I'm on WD 6.5.1 and Windows 10.

Hello,

Please update to the official WD version 6.5.6:

Then please check the Input directly in Connection Manager > Serial COM Connections > select your connection > right click: Test.
What kind of data do you get here?

Please also check the different COM Input Nodes, there are three available:
