Cineform Codec Support

Hello,

I'd like to request support for the Cineform video codec.

While it is a CPU based codec, it is also currently one of the main mezzanine codec alternatives to ProRes422. I've been using it on other platforms, and find it's quality and performance to be absolutely stellar.

A very decent codec indeed, however I was recently made aware of this announcement:

Cineform & GoPro Studio Premium and Pro products have officially been retired at the beginning of the year?? I wonder what this does to the Codec itself though??

Cheers

It means it's no longer a product that they sell.

Instead it has been released as open source.

This would be great, especially now with the HAP issues.

What are the HAP issues? Do you mean Adobe dropping the Quicktime codec library?

I agree and support looking into this. HAP issues with adobe products and the fact it is currently attached to QT 32 bit is a bummer. The smoothing of Cineform and speed at which it can be rendered is amazing. Not sure what performance would be but would love to see some support for it.

Since Verion 6.4 Pandoras Box Supports Cineform. Performance is not great compared to Hap or MPEG, but depending on the need it might be an option.
