TL:DR: Videos and Image Sequences are limited to 4K on Players (V6), the rest is limited by the kind of output (DP/DVI limits) and the GPU capabilities (mostly 16K*16K)

Video and Image Sequences
V6 Players are limited to 4K (4096*4096) by the license
Servers do not have a software/license limitation. See "Graphics" for limitations.

Graphics
Graphics are limited by the maximum texture size of the GPU. For the M4000 that we sell in our hardware is limited to 16K*16K

Outputs
The output resolution is limited by the connector used. On the M4000 that we sell in our hardware it is DisplayPort 1.2
  • 1440p (2560 × 1440 @ 165 Hz
  • 4K (3840 × 2160) @ 75 Hz
  • 5K (5120 × 2880) @ 30 Hz
Using the Dual Link DVI adapter
  • HDTV (1,920 × 1,080) @ 85 Hz
  • WQXGA (2,560 × 1,600) @ 60 Hz
