Spread Contents from NAS to Clients

Hey,
is there a clever way to implement a NAS in a live production workflow ?
I would like to have all contents stored on a NAS System and spread the contents directly to the connected clients. If i just use it as a net folder at the manager, the data runs through this computer. I am curious if there is a way to spread directly from a NAS to the clients..
