Workspaces? [8.8]

Hi, does anyone know how to use and benefit from the new Workspaces feature in the preview window?
The only reference i can fine to any help on this is in the online help here: https://www.christiepandorasbox.com/root/downloads/support/Documentation/Helpfile/index.html#whats-new.htm

Workspaces are meant to make 2D workflow easier.
In the first step you can define you workspace to any size you want. e.g. 3600x1080 for a dual projector softedge.

Inside that workspace you can align, size and position Layers very fast.
By clicking on the pixel distance you can edit them.

This is a first step in making 2D workflows faster. I was told there is more to come.
