Solid Wipe Trans FX

Hello again!

Does anyone know the best way to do a solid wipe trans FX?

I have used TransFX 128/129 to create a shaded transition, but I could do with a solid wipe. I guess the mask would be a 1/2 black and 1/2 white mask, but I don't know if this is the way PB works?

I have also tried using AlphaCropX and Alpha Crop, but they only crop from the centre, whereas I would like to crop/wipe left to right.

Any ideas?

Is there a way to use a custom mask as a TransFX?

Hi Nick,

I´m not sure if I understood correct what you mean with "solid wipe". Like one of the wipes 128/129, but with hard edges? Did you try the wipes 236 / 237?

If you want to use a custom wipe / mask, you could have a look to the alphablend effect, that you can use as key&fill effect with your own created mask: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=334.

Hi, I need these wipes... does anyone know why in 8.9.1 the transitions stop at 230 now???

Hi.

The transitions lists stops at 230 in version 6 already, maybe 5 or 4 also? I did not check, the referenced post is very old.

You can easily use your own black/white transition file by using the "Transition Media Mask" or "Transition Crop Media Mask" effect. I hope this helps to get a quick solution,
