Postby dgrassart » Wed Feb 23, 2011 6:58 pm

Hello,

Just one question, can i use the Media Player PRO with 3 black magic design Intensity PRO card?
I need to capture in real time 3 HD camera with direct HDMI video output. (Sanyo VCC4600P)

is the HP workstation Z600 is a good choice for the harware? and which video card i need to choose for video output with HD resolution (not full HD)

Thank You very much for your help!

Hi,

as we never tested this input card, we cannot say anything about the functionality and performance used with Pandoras Box. Generally all input cards that are Direct Show based should work. But we can not guarantee it.
I know that some clients are happy using Blackmagic Cards, but I know as well that they sometimes cause troubles and that it can be a pain getting the inputs running.

As Player hardware we recommend well equiped Multimedia/Gaming PCs.
For a new PC we would probably recommend using a NVIDIA GTX260 or a GTX460 or GTX465 Graphicscard.
A 7200rpm Harddrive is a minimum, better is a RAID System with 2 or 4 Drives.
Any newer Dualcore Processor will do the Job, but I would recommend going with an Intel Processor like an i5 or i7.
Make sure that you have a big enough PSU.

Best regards,
Julia

From what I understand about PB the front side bus (FSB) speed of your motherboard, the hard drive access time, the amount video card RAM, and the number of available video card shaders are going to be your biggest bottlenecks.

The FSB speed and amount of video RAM is probably the biggest issue if you are trying to pull in 3 HD streams.

Blackmagic drivers get updated about every 6 hours. They are kind of a pain in the butt, but usually you can get them to work with some fiddling.

Good luck!
