Dear coolux Users,

We are pleased to announce a new versatile tool for live Video Streaming into WYSIWYG
The Pandoras Box CITP based Desktop Streamer is a new tool to stream any Windows XP / Win7 desktop region into WYSIWYG.
This way you can project your favourite video content directly into WYSIWYG without using any capture cards.

Please find below the installer of the Pandoras Box Desktop Streamer.
http://www.coolux.de/root/downloads/sup ... reamer.zip

On some systems a c++ runtime update is required, this can be found here
http://www.coolux.de/root/downloads/sup ... utable.zip

The streaming tool was created to allow the streaming of Pandoras Box Media Server Preview into WYSIWYG and allows to stream any application content into WYSIWYG directly.

All the best,

Your coolux team!

With that version of Wysiwyg can it work?
I tried with the R22 but I could not get it to work ...

Thanks

Hi Franco!

Please let me know more about your problem.
Do you not have generally the possibility to select an CITP stream, or what exactly is the problem in your system?
Please notice, that all necessary settings are explained in the help window which you can open by clicking the question mark in the upper right corner.

Here it is again:
---------------
In order to stream your desktop or parts of it over to WYSIWYG, please follow these steps:

- Start WYSIWYG
- Go to "Options - Application Options" tab "Additional Interfaces" and check "Enable CITP"
- Close and restart WYSIWYG
- Within a project open the Video Manager
(this can be found in the menus Tools/Design/Live depending on your Working-Mode)
- Add a new video source
- Check "CITP Video Stream" and click browse
- Select the COOLUX Pandoras Box stream from the device list
- Assign the stream as a texture to the desired objects
- Open the "Video Tool" from "Live/Design"
- Select the CITP stream from the dropdown-list and click the play-button
---------------

We have developed the PBDS with R25 and R26. I'm not sure from which release on WYSIWYG generally supports CITP.
Please provide me some more detailed information about your problem.

Regards,
Markus

Hi,
I tried the streaming tool today, not with the pandoras box manager, I just captured the VLC player on the desktop, playing a mpg2 file. Streaming is working fine, but somehow the colours are wrong. It seems like blue and red are interchanged, for example the orange of the VLC logo appears in light blue.
At the moment I don't have my pandoras box dongle with me, so I can not check if it is the same when capturing the preview window.
Computer is a Asus G73, graphic card is a NVIDIA GTX460, WYSIWYG and the streaming tool on the same computer.

kind regards

Hi Tommi,

that's exactly the reason why we integrated the RGB checkbox at the top of your window.
The behavior of sending RGB or BGR has changed between Version 1.0 and 1.1 of the CITP standard. As we never know which protocol the receiver uses, we added this checkbox to be compatible to all.
If you are missing this checkbox you are using an older version of PBDS. In this case please download the newest Beta-Version of PBDS. You can find this by clicking the "old" link above.

Please make sure to uninstall the old instance of PBDS before installing the new one.

Regards,
Markus

Hi,

Curently trying to connect from a MM to wysiwyg with citp. We get it running, but keep getting about 1 frame per 5 sec... Both machines are new powerful ones... Also running on 1gb network.

I remember my 1st test was more fluid a while ago, and I did see it running nice at last ldi...

What do we do wrong, or what should I look at to get better result?

Thanks,

Hi Valy,

please check the following things:

- is the preview in PBDS also slow or is it fluid in here? Exactly this preview will be send out, so when you select only 1fps, you will see the result in the preview window.
- does it run fluid with only having one surface in WYSIWYG in a new project?
- is there many traffic on the network like other CITP-streams or Art-Net?

Hi all...
I'm trying to use this to stream video onto a projection screen that's 160'x16', with top and bottom LED tiles. Content will ultimately come from Pandora's Box, for now I'm using Quicktime video's as a source.
No matter what I do, I can't get output from the streamer... Wyg sees the CITP stream, but I get a blank screen. This is the case no matter what I apply the video source to, and of course I've selected the stream and clicked play.
I've tried streaming onboard a single machine to Wyg (Win7 64), as well as from a XP machine with streamer to Win7 machine with Wyg, same results.
Also, Wyg see's the stream as 144x144 regardless of the source settings on streamer... could this have something to do with it? Or is this a resolution limitation?

Thanks!

Hi screamlab,

CITP is limited to 144x144Pxs. So we will always use these pixels and squeeze your image in this resolution. As well, when you are using a lower resolution, the stream will work with this maximum resolution.

In the last weeks we have encountered some problems with Win7 receiving CITP data.
This is an issue with Win7 and specific switches and / or settings in your network card driver.

Please send me an email to support@coolux.de that I can send you a workaround.
For all others will this be available in this forum soon.

Markus

I am having issue as well with PBDS and Wysiwyg R39. It seems that wysiwyg can't see all the PBDS i opened. sometimes it detects all 8. but most of the time it only sees 2 streams. is there a workaround or a configuration for it? I am on win10 for wyg and PBDS v3 on win7..I am also using the same Nics for my Grandma2 console control. I hope someone can help me asap.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

this is hopefully the workaround to get it running under Win7:

Network card settings: configure client

Set the following values to disabled

If this doesn't help and you are using a switch in between do the following as well:
Set the receive buffer to 2048 (this value may vary from (network) card to card.

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt response. I did try the settings you mentioned but to no luck, Wysiwyg still see 2 streams only. and it started to be a bit laggy.
