What does it cost?

There are several differences updating from Version 4 depending on the product as well as the purchase date.

- Server-Updates are generally free of charge
- Offline-Manager-Updates are free of charge
- Educational Updates are free of charge
- Updates of all products bought after 1st of April 2011 are free of charge

As there are many new products available starting with Version 5, please feel free to contact your local dealer or sales@coolux.de for an upgrade or/and a trade-in price.

Will the hardware of Players and Servers change?

No, the distributed hardware in Version 5 remains the same as it was in Version 4 (Hardware version V4 and V4Rev2).

Can I still use my Version 3 server hardware?

No, Version 5 Server will only run on V4 and V4 Rev 2 -hardware due to performance limitations of the old hardware regarding the new possibilities and rendering tasks.
If you have updated your V3-servers to V4 once, feel free to contact us at sales@coolux.de or to ask your local dealer for a trade-in offer.

Do I need to update the dongle?

Yes, have to update your dongle to be capable to install Version 5.
Besides getting the new license for Version 5, your dongle needs to get a firmware update.

Where do I get the new software?

Version 5 software will be as well available in the download section of this forum.
In addition you can download all software in the download section of our website http://www.coolux.com.

When installing new dongle driver, the PC(XP32) halts for some minutes, then comes up with:
"Unable to start hardlock service with parameters 1119 1058 1. ErrorCode: 48 5 672 1058"

What to do?

Uninstalling the old driver and after this a clean installation of the new one helped...

Hi Guys,
I have problem to install ver 5771 with new dongle key Manager (VER. 5) when the installer query dongle another windows appear "Make sure your dongle is attached to your computer", after, the installation closed.
I tried to start 5771 already installed version into another pc, but the software don't read the DongleKey. I update the driver at 5.95 and the problem is the same in both case.

Have you a procedure to solve that?

Hi Paride,

did you ask to keep Version 4.7 on your Dongle as you did the update to V5? It seems that your Dongle can only run V5 now.

Hi!

All Version 4 dongles which are updated will still hold the version 4 license on it.
Newly bought licenses will only be able to operate version 5.

@ Paride: Did you update an older dongle or is it a new one?

Hi Paride,

sorry, now I´m a bit confused. So you have a new Dongle bought for V5 and you want to run V4.7 with it?
If this is the case you need to read out the dongle file and send it to us, so that we can add the Version 4.7 to your dongle.

Hi, when i tried to open v5 client on my server, i received an error message dialog box saying "UNKNOWN ERROR (H0033)"

We have recently updated our server and manager from v4.7 to 5.0 and have received the activation code and updated them as well.

Please advise, thank you.

Hi,

can you start the client version out of the windows start menue? If so, do you have the latest PB Menue Software on that machine? There had been some changes in the names of the versions, so the older PB Menue versions cannot find the right version in the sevice tab.

Hi!

Another thought about this:
Please make sure that the "Sentinal HASP License Manager" service is running correctly. This is the service which is communicating with your dongle. If it is not started PBox will never find the dongle and will not start because of that.

To check if it is running please proceed a right click onto the "computer" icon and select "manage" or goto the services using the control panel.
In there you will find the service "Sentinal HASP License Manager". Double click it to open the preferences and have a look at the state. If it is not started and not set to automatic startup please change it to this, that it always starts up automatically after starting your computer.

Please let us know if this service is running.

Hi all,

thanks for helping.

It turns out that the "Sentinal HASP License Manager" service did not start automatically. It was put to "manual" mode and i have to change it to "auto" so it starts when the PC goes into windows. Weird.

I am updating our servers for the first time. 5.0 rev 6247 to 5.3 rev 8071
I have a couple of questions to make sure I get this right.

I will run the "V5_3_Rev8071_Release.exe" file on the Media Masters as well as all Servers,

and then I will follow the "Dongle Update Procedure" to "collect key status information" for every machine, and complete the email exchange for the ".v2c-file" or am I to do this only on the Media Masters?

Lastly, I will update Widget Designer Pro from 3.5 rev215 to 4.0 rev 418 by running the "Widget_Designer_PRO_4_Installer_Rev418.exe" file.

Does it sounds like I am on the right path?

Hi Androo,

The file "V5_3_Rev8071_Release.exe" you downloaded from our website is a selfextracting zip file. The real installer is inside of it. Once it is unzipped you have to run the installer "Installer_V5_3_Rev8071_Release.exe" on every machine (Manager, Player and Server, all have the same installer).

Since you already run version 5 you don't need the dongle update procedure for Pandoras Box. If you want to run Widget Designer 4 you have to do the dongle update procedure and please contact your local distributor.
