for a recent demo at XL Events UK we created a little PB automation programm to use Media Manager to track a Mac 250 Entour from the Ubisense Timax ultra wide band XYZ tracker.

Since with tracking its all about latency and accuracy this tracker updated 10 times per second with an accuracy of 5-15cm.

The target of the demo was to show a proof of concept to show that the timax tracker can be used as aiming device.

In theory this method could be applied to anything from lighting fixtures to remote cameras, check out the video to see the test results:

Hi guys,
does anybody knows something more about TIMAX Tracker sysyem?
How many transmitters can I adopt using only one Widget Designer? I see that we can set tag IDs on Timax Input Node and I supposed that those are transmitter IDs but I've never seen the system so I need some more infos....

currently a single transmitter is supported from within a single WD instance.

Please let us know if you need multiple tags to be received then we can look into it and expand this functionality.

Dear colleagues,

Recently we discussed (with customers from an integration company) what tools can we use to create a solution that allows speakers to walk around the meeting room during a video conference, without being lost by the camera. The first thing that came on my mind is ID Tag, but as it requires quite expensive Optitrack cameras, this instrument can offer redundant accuracy and possibly be difficult to implement for middle-sized conference rooms or it makes the whole solution too expensive. But what if we use Ubisense Timax for this kind of application? Would it be more cost-effective?

If so, we can use cameras supporting VISCA - control protocol (or any other serial or TCP/UDP link) even without impelementing camera control in WD (just write a Macros), and Software like Widget Designer PRO/ULT. We also could use Manager to offer visualization of room for developers (Site venue) and add servers if there's a need to manipulate with video.
