Hi
am planning to use coolux as a video player to play the mentioned resolution. will it be advisable to split the video into 4 video files and have 4 outputs or is there any other methods for this?
i am using the server std and coolux will be integrated into barco encore for my show.

Thanks and apologise for the noob question... :)

Hi,

yes, split this huge resolution up into 4 videos. Please keep in mind that you reach the limit of your Dual Server STD hardware for guaranteed fluid, stable playback with 4 full HD videos. I also recommend to use the video memory buffers for these files.

Hope this helps.

Hi!

In addition:
You should at least split in a size smaller than 4096Px to be able to play back the content.
You could use the Overlay FX to combine all chunks back to one video and edit the media with effects all together instead of programming on 4 different layers.

While doing this please keep in mind that you need to have a video as main media. A clever trick is to use the first chunk as media, the other three within the effect and route the main media into it using the "share layer texture".

Cheers
Markus

Hi

Following up on this topic.

Thanks for the help

It works!

But seems that splitter can only split jpeg seq and not videos, am I right to say so?

Hi,

yes, the splitter will only work on image sequences, not on video files.

best regards
