v5.5 9088 and MA-net 2 issues

Hi all, I'm having some real issues with getting my Grand MA2 to talk to my Pandora's Box system running build 9088.
I have been using this setup for quite some time now and its always 'just worked' which is great!
Im in a session...check.
IP Coolux server - 192.168.0.11
IP Manager - 192.168.0.10 (all firewalls are turned off)
IP Grand MA2 UL - 192.168.0.1 (running 2.9.0.7)

Manager is talking to the server just fine.
I have clicked numerous time on the 'Run MA-net' button.
Patch is double checked...

System runs fine via sACN and Artnet!

Anyone got any ideas? Is there a bug?

Hi,
I think there is a sort of bug into the last GMA2 release. Have you tried to dowgrade your console at release 2.8.3.1? Probably you could solve in this way. Sometimes MALighting changes his network protocol to improve it but few tiems this can cause an incompatibility with third party products like Pandoras Box.

For the record, I've had a few shows that have run fine on this version of PB
I will find out what version the console was running.

I feel that 2.9 is very buggy from MA.

Hi,

GrandMA version 2.9.x introduced changes in the protocol. We are currently in contact with MA-Lighting to solve the issue.

The known workarounds for the moment are: Use GMA < 2.8 or use ArtNet/sACN/DMX instead of MaNet

Hi everybody,

MA Net 2.8.x iost supported with Pb Rev 9088
MA Net 2.9.x and higher will be Supported with the next PB Release
We have successfully tested it here.
The biggest Change is that MA Net 2.9.x requires real MA Hardware to be present, otherwise it will not work.
This means that running MA Net 2.9.x with a OnPC and Pandoras Box does only work if a 2PortNode, NPU, FaderWing or CommandWing is attached to the session.

We are currently checking if we can make it possible for PB Rev 9088 to work with MA Net 2.9.x

Hi everybody ,
I am a grandMA2 user and recently got involved with Pandora's Box. I am facing the same problem with the updated network protocol of MA net2 from grandMA ver.2.9 and on. My Pandora's Box is running on version 5.5 rev.3736 so it only works with the old MA net2 version 2.8.
I would like to ask if this problem is solved at the latest versions of Pandora's Box (version5.5rev9926 or version 5.7).
I would like to ask also if I make an update on Pandora's will I have any unwanted changes regarding the patch or the network settings or something else.

Hi buddy, 5.7 is great and stable.
No crazy patch changes
It will install side by side anyway so just install and test!

I assume that the 5.7 version, apart from being stable, also supports the new MAnet2 internet protocol, right?

It is stable and does support the new MA2 Protocol yes.


Just try it out...
You don't have to uninstall 5.5 to have this new version.

Save it as a different copy so you can go back if you have issues.
