White flash when using warps

Postby cmalmquist » Tue Dec 09, 2014 12:05 am

Hi all,

We have been experiencing quite the frustration. After creating warps, when we use them in the timeline we are getting a white flash at the beginning of some of the content. All video loops have been pulled from the coolux library. Our only way around this has been to add a second "0" frame in before the fade up begins. But, this fix is inconsistent. Se pieces still flash. Some still flash on random occasions. Has anyone else been having this issue?

Do you have a preroll on the containers?
Or a pause at the beginning?

Hello,

Does the problem also occur in a new blank project when using only a minimal amount of resources? (the warp + content)

Where does this white flash come from? (Do you have any contents that are white? Are you using any FX that might be causing a white image?)

This problem has happened in every new project we have started. The content has been both from the black and white gobo stock loops and pulled from the color loops on the website. When using the arrows keys the white flashing frame is always before the content. It looks as though is just the warp with no content on top.

We have noticed the occurrence inconsistently but both after a pause point and in the middle of a long section.

The only way we have gotten anywhere with eliminating the flash is by adding a 15 frame preroll. But this seems like a lot to have to do to every cue to ensure no flashing. Also, we have been using fx on layers but there hasn't been one over another that seems to be a consistent culprit.

Hello,

Is it really a white flash or rather a grey flash? It might have something to do with your hardware. Make sure it is fast enough. The loops we provide have a low resolution and shouldn't take long to load. If you still encounter problems then I suggest contacting the coolux support team with that matter. Don't forget to include your log files, so we can have a look at your system specs.
