Using video effect via midi

Postby luzstudio01 » Wed Apr 22, 2015 5:07 pm

Hi

I'm asked to put a few video effects on my video layers and to randomly use and play with them during a live show, using a midi controller (akai apc40)

Is it doable? is it the best way to go? Any help or advices would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Frank,

Yes, it should be doable in combination with the Widget Designer.
You can Script everything inside the Widget Designer and Access each parameter of an FX.
The Widget Designer has the APC40 integrated so it should be fairly simple.

Faders of the apc40 work very well with the coolux WD .

BUT

I have a big issue, and it occurs with other midi devices i use as well.

Every fader i link to an layer on a specific computer and an effect, will do the right effect on the correct layer, BUT also affect the master opacity on all layers on every players.

Tryed making a new show, using other devices, it's driving me mad.

here is a screen of the setting i put on a fader ( using a smaller akai lpd8 here)

i have to finish programing my show by early next week @_@

Don't put a number in the sequence box. Leave it blank.
That is for controlling the opacity of a sequence, so what you are doing is adjusting both the sequence and the parameter at the same time.
