Player vs Software

Postby keystone2013 » Sun May 17, 2015 1:53 pm

Hi to you all,

I'm in the middle of a price quote calculation for one of our projects and new to the Coolux products.
What is not clear to me is what do you get when you order for example a PB Dual Player.
Is this only the hardware or is there also the PB software installed on this machine?
Thanks in advanced.

Software is installed on the machine. On a Dual Plauer is the software like Player Pro, but then with 2 outputs instead of one.

Hello,

when buying you have to decide how many layers and other features you require. You can tell this from the Product Overview found on our website. Just click any product and on the right hand side you'll find a link to it. The product brochure can also help.
If one of the Player Lt, Std or Pro licences are exactly what you need, but you need more than one output then you can stack those. This means buying two Player licences gives you two dongles and if you put them both in a machine you get double the Video Layers + one additional output. This stacking is only possible with those Player licences (Lt, Std, Pro). If you are not sure what to pick just call either sales or technical support for help. Make sure you know what your requirements and limitations are before you call.

Once this is decided you know what kind of (software) licence you need. Now there are several licences that are only available with a coolux Hardware, such as all Servers, the Compact Player, Player Dual and Player Quad. However you can get optional hardware with pretty much any licence if you want. There are two hardware options, a Workstation or a Compact Station. You can match any of the "software only" licences with them such as Player Lt, Std, Pro and Manager licences.
