Lowres VGA Signal input

HI,

I have a project were I need to get a low-resolution analog VGA signal into my pandora's box software.
I have a player standard and my own hardware.

Would a simple TV tuner card be an solution or do I need to have these more expensive datapath/blackmagic (decklink/intensity) cards.
For this project latency and color dept won't be very important.

And, when the TV tuner won't work, would an Blackmagic decklink mini-recorder be better then a blackmagic intensity?
What would be the differance? Will they work both?

Best regards

Hi Ruben,

will your image be provided as VGA signal or as composite?
Tuner cards mostly do only have a composite input via cinch or similar.

Even when they have a VGA input, you would need to check if they can only read 720x576pixels as this is the PAL resolution.

Cheers
Markus

Hi Markus,

The signal is problably rgbhv, because it hs a vga connector.
Resolution pal is fine by me, I'm just wondering if Pandora's box software will recognise these cards?

best regards

Hi again,

as long as the input card has a valid DirectShow driver (or video for windows), it will show up as LiveInput as your Webcam does as well.
