PB recording

Postby aquapixs » Sat Oct 17, 2015 2:42 pm

Hello everyone,

I would be very interested in all of your experiences with using Pandoras Box a a recording tool!
Anything related to that would be interesting, especially 4K input, audio input, file saving times and instant playback.

I'm researching for a project right now what the best way would be to record certain pieces thru PB during a show and play them back in the same show a couple of minutes later.

Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

some month ago, I had a small project where we tried to capture the signal from an Full-HD USB 3.0 Webcam.

Displaying the input was no problem, but the recording didn't work well.
We tried to capture a 6 sec. video, at the end we recieved a video that was something like a time lapse video.
It seems the nearly every second frame was not recorded.
We tried different hardware and used several script versions to trigger the recording, but nothing solved the problem.
At the end we switched to an extern recording solution.

Coolux did not recognised this bevore, but they didn't know if someone used the record function with USB inputs.
With the capture cards delivered with the server hardware, there should be no problem. But I haven't tested it.
