How to display simple network video stream?

Postby remnew » Tue Nov 03, 2015 5:51 pm

Hi! We have a network live input from VLC-player streamed in TS-container, available via url http://2.0.1.120:8080/video.ts using mp2v codec. How we can setup the PB Master for displaying this stream?

Hey,

Not possible. The only network stream you can use is StreamiX.

It's a pity. So, can you describe step-by-step (for dummies) setup process for StreamiX software? How to add StreamiX node into project assets, how to setup it. how to setup player for translation in real-time without time limits (for example - from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM), and how to translate sound from PC. which desktop is streaming?

Hello,

have a look at the manual:

http://www.coolux.de/root/downloads/sup ... ttings.htm
http://www.coolux.de/root/downloads/sup ... terfac.htm

OR

http://manual.coolux.de/
and use the search function on "streamix"

I have some questions on this manual...

1. Why the IP address in Network Settings of StreamiX software is the same that local IP (at the bottom of window)? Is it right? By logic - at the Network Settings we must apply external IP address of PB Server or another device.

2. Where is located button "Configure Live Inputs", how to add another Live Inputs with ID's 2, 3, etc.. ?

3. Where I can read about "Attach" button - which one, as I think, connects selected projector (or Player?) to this Live Input?

Manual is good, but too short - I can't find answers on some detailed options, for examle, such as described before

Hi
1. from the manual:
[IP]:
Enter the IP address of the PB Client (or PB Master if stand alone) you want to sent the stream as a live input to.
So the scenario of the screenshot was to capture sth from one location from the desktop and send it to PB, that runs on the same machine, but maybe different monitor.

2. In the manual, there is a screenshot showing the button for a client and if you use it in the Master as standalone, and it says "In order to configure the StreamiX live input on a PB Master (PB Player or PB Server) drag the StreamiX live input from the Assets Tab to the Project Tab as well. Select the StreamiX asset and have a look at its options in the Inspector Tab. Scroll down, select the local entry and click the button "Configure". ".
You add more StreamiX IDs by setting up more streaming clients with different IDs and dragging in more Live Inputs into the project. In the depicted screenshot from the Inspector, it says for example "StreamiX 1)

3.again from the manual:
As live inputs are only available (and render-able) on the system were the physical input is, all other system including PB Manager cannot display the input. In order to preview a dummy file, select the StreamiX asset and use the attach function on the local node. Scroll down the Inspectors window, highlight "local" and click the "Attach" button. Choose the file you want to preview instead of the non-existing live input and Click "Ok".
and below you see a screenshot showing the attach button in the Inspector.
