2 PB on one client with soft edge blend

Postby gregdbrown » Tue Dec 08, 2015 11:46 am

Hi,
I am running Version LT Rev 5237. I have a server and a client machine.
I want to have a soft edge projector blend on the two outputs of the client machine. I cannot find a way to do.
Can somebody please help or point me in the direction of a tutorial.

Many thanks!

Hi gregdbrown,

Revision is quite an old version as it is still V4.
This is why the tutorials will look different when it comes to layer structure and the settings.
In your version you will find the softedge parameters on the "camera"-layer, which is underneath your video and graphics layers.

You will find all tutorials here:
http://www.coolux.de/cooluxsupport/tutorials/
Lesson 20 covers the output where you will find keystone and softedge parameters. In V5 the camera has been split to camera and output which is still combined in your version.

Cheers

Hi Markus,

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I have managed to create a soft edge blend across two servers with the camera layer.
The issue is having two projectors on one server; I can only get one PB server to run on one screen. I can expend the desktop across two screens but then I cannot figure out how to make a blend in the middle.

Many Thanks!

Which Products are you using?
How many cameras do you have on the client?

Hi again!

If you are using a Player (your installation patch and the title bar shows "Player") in V4, you cannot have multiple outputs on one machine.
Only if you are running a "real" Server (your installation patch and the title bar shows "Server") you will have 2 physical render outputs available which can be softedged with two camera layers which will show up within your device.

Cheers

Hi Markus,

The title bar shows "Pandoras Box PLAYER PRO - CLIENT [Rev 5237]

The venue definitely used to run dual outputs on each of these machines.
There is 4 servers each dual output and 8 projectors in the venue so it definitely used to work.
I imagine somebody at some point has tried upgrading the system and installed the wrong player/server?
