DVI Processor problems

Postby BenODwyer » Thu Jan 25, 2018 10:56 am

Hello All

I am having issues with 2 Quad Servers. Both are running v5.9 and have the DVI processors attached.

I can not get any output from either DVI processor. I only get a blue light on the usb input and a magenta light on the power input.

No other lights are on at all.

Sometimes I can get 1 800x600 output to work but nothing else.

Seems odd that I have the same issue on 2 servers.

If I connect direct to the GFX card on the server both outputs function fine.

Can anyone shed any light as to what may be the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ben,
this sounds a bit weird, as DVI processor is not a very complex thing. What you can try though is to resintall PB Menu, this is responsible to get correct EDID information into the DVI processor.
Pushing the 'Display settings' Button on PB Menu should open a special setup window for DVI processor to set EDID settings for your application (via USB). After doing that, the DVI processor should provide correct EDID information for the graphics card (sometimes requires restart), visible at the nvidia graphics menu. High resolutions need dual link capability for DVI cables. Keep DVI cabling short.

Hi Thomas

I have already tried that.

I reinstalled PB Menu and no change.

The servers and the manager are quite old so I am not on the latest versions as everything is still running Windows XP.

Hi Ben,
please check if there are hidden files in the folder
c:\system\LCD_Menu
and delete them.
If you use e.g. a Mac device to download and unpack PB Menu there are file beginning with a dot in those folders. These files are blocking processors to work correctly.

Interesting.

I did download the files on a Mac. I am away from the server currently but will try this as soon as I am able.

Thanks a lot
