Fading to black

Postby kris_goubert » Fri Aug 21, 2009 4:32 pm

Hi,

I'm looking for a solution to be able to put a still file in the top layer with a gradient from black to transparent.
We need to project on buildings but the top part needs to be darker then the bottom part. I don't want to adjust the content because it can only be done onsite wich is not possible due to the short timeframe (like always...) Can anybody advise please ?

Thx

Hi Kris,

Just a PNG or TGA file wich is transparent to the bottom to.
Let it fade from black to transparant.

By changing the position of the layer you can choose to make it lighter or darker.

Or if you use a server, just set the Transistion to 129, this should also work.

Hi Kris,

another way (if you run a server, not a player) would be to take the TBBlackGradient VideoFX on this layer. With the Video FX fader you can adjust the gradient's size and edge and rotate it. So you could darken the image from top or bottom. Or use the TBAlphaGradient and have another image / colour on the layer beyond to fade into.

Best regards,
Julia
