Matrixing on a laptop?

Postby JustynR » Sun Aug 23, 2009 8:28 pm

I have a flight tonight to go and set up a last minute pixel map with some servers. What I am wondering, is..
Because I am only pixel mapping out of a machine with the Coolux Media Player, would it make sense that I could do this off of a high performance laptop? I don't need the display card to run this well right? Just wondering if I have to worry about the airline losing my servers... will my laptop in my carry on work if they do lose the servers?!
The laptop is the machine that I use for the Media Manager, and is above specs that are required to run the Manager.

Thanks for any input

Regards,

Justyn

Hi Justyn,

basically it is possible to run the Media Player on a laptop. And if you say its specs are adequate - so why not?!
As you only need the preview in the player (to run the matrix version) and not a full screen, a "normal" graphics card will be fine - as long as Vertex and Pixel Shader Version 2.0 is available.

Have a good flight!

Best regards,
