3D Projection

Postby Jason Riordan » Wed Nov 04, 2009 4:06 am

Hi Everyone,

I have a client that would like to do a 3D projection show and I have a few questions regarding content.

The end client already has a 3D video created and were wondering if we would be able to import and be able to use the content on the output of PB servers. I understand how to create a 3D setup with the projectors and all of the rest of the setups, but its the content that is concerning me.

Please let me know.

My understanding is that when 3d content is created it is rendered twice, left eye, right eye... or rendered once at a resolution like 2048x768. Then all you have to do is co-converge 2 projectors and play the '3d' file back on a horizontal span setup. This is for a passive set up.
For an active set up it is rendered left eye, right eye and played back with 1 projector and you have digital glasses on.

It sounds to me like you'd be able to do this if you had multiple camera set ups - 1 for the 3d rendering that is made, and then one for Pandora's 3d setup.

I hope this helps.
