I'm doing a show that will be shot in 23.98 frames. I'm being asked if the Pandoras Box Media Server can play 23.98 fps files. Is this possible?

Hi Mike,

yes, PB also plays files with 23.976 fps.

But you'll have to set your your play speed to around DMX level 177 (in a 0-255 scenario), otherwise a 24/23.98 fps file will play too fast at the default speed setting.

Hi,

you do not have to adjust the playspeed. Whatever the videos framerate is, one second will be one second!Pandoras Box will do a conversion to match the framerate to the current output frequency.

So, whether the videos framerate is 15 fps or 23.98 fps, it won´t be played faster.

Yeah sorry about that. I posted too soon. I had some incorrectly-rendered test files (100% my fault) that led me to believe that.
