Matrix lost when switching resolutions

Postby Linton9 » Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:32 am

We have become aware of a fault where by changing monitors (to one of different resolution) could cause you to lose your matrix output.
On this particular project our source is not scaled to fill the screen, but to fit exactly to our pixel map.

We believe this is due to the mapping of actual graphics card pixels to achieve the matrix output.

Is there any way to rectify this?

Hi Linton,

when are you switching to a different output? During PB is running? or when the whole system is off?

Best regards,

Julia,

We are switching physical monitors when the system is off.

Our media is made of 1500 squares arranged in the same formation as the actual installation.

As you can understand any shift of scale of this could result in zero output.

Dear Lynden,

I tested switching between different resolutions here and I was able to reproduce this behaviour.
We will analyze where this is coming from and how to avoid it.

Thanks for reporting and sorry for this!

Best regards,
Julia

Hi Lynden,

to change the behaviour you detected, we would need to rebuild the whole matrix output and - before this - have a new concept for it.
I'm sorry, this means that it cannot be changed at short notice.

Best regards,
Julia
