Pinnacle Moviebox firewire on 2 player

Postby alverman » Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:37 pm

I connected the pinnacle movie box firewire at player one, i have linked thru firewire cable the player two for view a camcorder image.
Everything works fine :D
But when I close the player and restart them (without rebooting the computer) the manager no longer recognizes the player.
To get them to recognize the player must restart all machine!

Why?

Thanks, Alberto

Hi Alberto,

this pinnacle movie box is connected to Player one, ok, but what does it mean :"i have linked thru firewire cable the player two for view a camcorder image"?
Could you please describe it one more time, and you could send the logfiles of one player and the manager to support@coolux.de, so we can have a look into it.

Thanks!

Best regards,
Julia

Then,
I connected the player 1 to a MovieBox
I connected the player 2 with a firewire cable from the player 1

It works perfectly:)

When players and managers are open and close and reopen the manager continues to operate.
If only I close a player and restart the player the manager does not see him more and you must restart all machines.

Might be useful to have a button that the manager realigns the link to player also continues to see why vnc and connect a regular player

Hi Alberto,

ok, I got it, the firewire link supplies the movie box output to both players as live input.

If you closed the player and reopened it, please go to the assets tab in the manager, do a right-click on your local pc and choose [Refresh Tree]. With this command the manager rescans the network for Pandoras Box devices and should find the player. This could already solve your problem.

Are all devices (Manager, the two Players and the movie box) getting power from the same power source?
If not there COULD be a problem caused by different groundings. In this case please check if connecting all devices to the same power source solves the problem.

Best regards,
Julia

Ok!
I solved 8)

When installing a firewire card is also adding a network card, firewire.
Was enough to disable network adapters firewire and everything worked perfectly.

Thanks, Alberto
