coolux Media Systems is honored to receive a 2008 Primetime Emmy® Engineering Award for Pandoras Box

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has awarded coolux Media Systems the Emmy® Engineering Plaque in recognition of outstanding achievement in engineering development for the Pandoras Box real-time compositing Media Server. coolux Media Systems GmbH President Jan Huewel received the award during the 2008 Primetime Emmy® Engineering Awards ceremony on Aug. 23, at the Renaissance Hotel in Los Angeles.

"Pandoras Box is a turnkey solution that perfectly unites state-of-the-art rendering technology with intuitive media control, and it is a tremendous honour for coolux to be recognized by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the engineering involved in developing this unique and very powerful solution," said Steve Gilbard, president of coolux International.

coolux would like to thank Eli Mc Kinney of Media Magik in Los Angeles not only for being the first client in the US, but for drawing the attention of the Academy to Pandoras Box through his outstanding designs. In May 2005 Pandoras Box was introduced by Media Magik on "Hit Me Baby, one more Time" and the following year it was already seen by over 30 million viewers a week on American Idol. Thanks to Eli's extensive work Pandoras Box has been on most of Americas major award shows such as The Oscars, The Emmy's, The Grammy's, The BET Awards and over 50 Prime Time US television shows.

The Engineering Plaque is presented for those achievements that exhibit a high level of engineering and are important to the progress of the industry.

Pandoras Box Media Server features a 4K workspace in dual channels of 2K HD/SD outputs for on-air and pre- and post-production. Designed to enable creativity in multimedia design that eliminates many technical limitations, the 3-D compositing and rendering system from coolux Media Systems provides real-time on-location media control that is customizable to the needs of each client and project. The software allows users to arrange video and images freely; change the colour, form and position of images; synchronize 3-D sound or animate 3-D objects.
