Dear All

After the recent test we have made we have discovered that it is not recommended to use more than stereo files on any Pandoras Box Server the built in cards do support more channels but do NOT output these reliably.

When there is a need for more audio channels you may use Sonic emotion or thridparty audio hardware on Mananger Systems such as RME or Motu systems.

Please keep in mind that the setup and quality of the third party devices can be dfferent depending on which products OS and drivers are being used.

Best regards,
Julia

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried using the new Avid M-Box Pro audio devices yet? I need to get a proper audio device and the one that constantly gets high ratings is the M-Box and RME.

Any help would be fantastic.

Hi Jason,

we at coolux have not had our hands on the AVID M-Box.
RME works very well. We use it a lot and do a lot of testing with it.
It is our main recommandation for V5 and Audio Tracks.

So against my better judgement, we bought a MOTU UltraLite 3 Hybrid for use with V5 on the manager.

MM see's the ASIO device and allows me to select it, however no audio will output from the layer. Once I leave PB, I can hear any audio being outputted from the MM computer without problems.

Is there a problem with MOTU drivers for V5? Should I return the unit and get a RME Fireface?

Any help will be great.

Hi!

At the moment there is no known driver-issue.
Sorry, but one stupid question: Did you bring up the master volume of the ASIO-Audio in the Audio-configuration?

Did you select the right output-ID of the tracks!?

Hi Jason,

as Markus said, please make sure you have the Motu Driver selected in the Audio Configuration Tab and the Volume at 0dB

Also make sure you use the latest Motu Driver from the website. It has been tested by one of our clients with a MK2 and works fine.

Hi guys,

I will download the driver from MOTU. I had selected the device in the driver windows, set the master assigned the audio output and sent it to the layer - nothing. However if I escape PB, I hear it for Windows sounds. I'll try the driver and we'll go from there.

Thanks everyone.

Hi Jason,

Sound in Windows and Pandoras Box Manager are 2 totally different things.
Windows uses Direct Show / Sound and Pandoras Box Manager Tracks use ASIO.
Those are 2 different technologies and 2 different drivers, which normally get installed together.
Not all Soundcards support ASIO. All Professional Soundcards should support ASIO as far as I know.
Motu and RME do.

Your Windows sound device should be different from your ASIO Sound device in order to avoid problems.

Is there a win7 compatible list yet for ASIO on the Manager Pro?
