dear Pandora enthousiasts,

I'm playing a MOV file video on 1 layer and wavavimux 8track audio avi file in pandora standard player on the other.

the sound runs faster than video does. Within 6 minutes 1 minute ahead.

I converted the sound from 48K to 44.1K, this did not make the sound go slower.

Does anyone have suggestions on what to do ?

greeting

Rik

Are you sure that the audio file is running too fast ?
In the past i had problems that certain MOV files did run too slow. Even in quicktime on a PC !

Hi Rik,

lucken asked a good question – if really audio is too fast or the mov file is too slow.
I discovered a similar phenomenon some time ago.

As test you could store the mov. file to the timeline (instead of selecting it via ArtNet) and let it run completely through from the beginning without stopping it.

Then please watch the file when it comes to the end of the container: is the containers end = the movies end? Or didn’t the movie finish yet although running out of the clip container?

The log files you will find here:
C:/program files/coolux/”your current PB rev”/Logs.

Best regards,
Julia

Hello Lucken,

I'm not at all shure the audio runs to fast.
Now that I hear from you and Julia that you have seen it before, I presume the mov's go to slow.

What can I do about it ?

Rik

Convert the MOV to Mpeg2 !
I have already seen, more then once, that a MOV is not running the same on Windows then on Mac, it has nothing todo with Pandoras Box, because the same thing happens in the Apple Quick time player.

Hello everybody,
someone can help me about encoding Mpeg2 with muxed 5.1 audio? Is it possible to create it? Will it works on pandoras box?....and at least, if it's possible to create these clips, are there some special setups to know to export in the right way for PB playback?

Best Regards

Hey Everyone,
I am trying to get surround sound from my setup. I am planning to get the Motu device in the near future. I currently have a Creative 5.1 USB box, I wanted to try the surround with that and see how it sounded. Is there anything I have to "turn on" in the creative software or Pandora's to tell it to use the other outputs?

Thanks!
Shaun

My Current Setup is:
1 Media Manager
2 Media Servers (Server 1 has the Creative 5.1 USB)

Hi Shaun,

if you want to use an external multi-channel soundcard basically you have to select this soundcard as standard device under windows. Then Pandoras Box (as well as all other Windows Applications) will use it.

If you need a test-file you could use this one: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=150 (5.1) or this one viewtopic.php?f=63&t=298 (7.1).

You said that you are going to use a Motu Device.
Just a hint from our side: sometimes it is hard to get it running. But when it's running, it's running fine.

@Ricky:
Sorry, I just noticed that you didn't get an answer to your last comment in this conversation.
When you wrote this I tried in different ways to get Mpeg2 file including multichannel sound. But I didn't succeed. I think inside Mpeg you can't have this. In this post Alok describes how to create a multichannel wav-file using the free ware tool Audacity: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=790.

Best regards,
Julia

I found the motu driver, and it works again ! I'm happy again !

Is there also a driver for win7 64 that supports 7.1 ? I have not found one on the motu site.

At this moment only my win XP 32 pc's will play 7.1

greetings
