Pandoras Box User Forum

Hi everyone!

I'm thinking to built a custom pc for pandora's box player pro. I need 2/3 output on the same pc with multidongle, with fullHD contents, no 4K...
I need some advice:
- is better a geforce gtx980 ti or quadro m4000 ... more or less the same price
- or just a gtx970 make the job?

The rest of the system I was thinking is:
- I7 6700 or E3 v5
- 16 gb ram
- ssd hdd

Any advice is welcome

Hi,

i prefer quadro cards. The M4000 has 8gb ram and the gtx980 ti only 6gb ram.
More ram on your graphic card is better.

And a good SSD Raid System is important too.

Hi,

the clear advantage of Quadro Cards is that you can do EDID management. If you have non-standard resolutions or refresh rates then this is a win.

At the end I will choose a quadro card.

I am not sure to use a ssd raid system for windows. I had a bad experience with a system in raid 0. I was thinking of using one fast HDD M.2 PCI-E for OS. It seems to me more stable and simple.
Maybe I can do a raid 0 ssd system for the data drive. But I don't know if this is better with pandora, I never tested.

M.2 / nvme is more then adequate in terms of bandwith. Reliability on the long time is possibly an issue but i think you'll manage. I would go the same route
