LIVE SWITCHER (just) as INTERFACE FOR PANDORAS BOX

Postby judith » Thu Oct 13, 2016 6:29 pm

Sometimes a live Mixer is the best Way to be very flexible in the workflow with live cams and preproduced content.
The Timeline based programming is not always possible.
A nice haptic interface like a mixer is a nice way to Crossfade, preselect and cut between Inputs in rehearsals and live shows.

I´m wondering if you could program something in WD which makes a normal video mixer to an interface for pandoras box.
I don't want to run any signals trough the mixer, just trough pandora. (less latency, more options in output adjustments)

Has somebody already done that?
Is it possible to readout a mixer like e.g. the Panasonic HE-50 and use the data as control for Pandora Layers?

Does somebody know any other more universal interfaces Like Midi Pads which could be use to build a kind of live video switcher?

Thanks a lot for any ideas!
Best , Judith

I always use my light console (MA2) to remote control my Pandora's. That setup can do everything you're after I guess?

I would say a simple dmx board with faders (behringer 2412 or equivalent) with an dmx-->artnet. Converter will do the trick for you. Enttec make some nice coverters.
You can patch the artnet input to control the layers

HI
You mean the Panasonic aw-hs50 ;-)
Manual:

I think it is easier to use a other Midi Device (i like my Akai APC Mini because of the LED feedback) and controll the WD, the Box and the HS50.
I use WD commands to Controll our spyder, some Extron devices and other players.
