Hi Alberto,
you can connect Kinect device to WD via USB and you will able to manage MultiTouch Panel with it, or you can use his Input node.
At least you can handle 8 different touch points using Kinect! :)

Hi,

please be carefull using the Kinect in combination with other USB devices, especially web cams. We had some issues with that. We are working on that but the Kinect drivers are very new and we did not test everything in depth.

regards

Patrick

I connected only Kinect as a USB device.
When I try to connect Kinect WD closes without warning.

I use Prime Sense driver

Thanks, Alberto

Hi Everyone

We are currently testing the Kinect aswell and have some problems. The device is recognized by the CLNUI Device Test but cant be opened in WD. As soon as "Start device" is clicked WD crashes.

Tested on:

Macbook Pro running Win 7 64 bit as admin

HP Pavillion notebook running Win 7 64 bit as admin

Asus Desktop PC running Win 7 64 bit as admin

If CLNUI Device Test is kept running in the background WD does not crash and shows "device connected" without showing an image.

Hi Martin,

have you got any other USB-Devices attached to the WD computer?
I have had problems when eg. a logitech webcam was attached as well. Then I did not get any signal out of the kinect.

Best regards,
Julia

Hi Julia

No right now there are no other devices attached but there used to be, I will try to run the kinect on a system that has never seen another usb device and get back to you.

One small step I did.
Using WD PRO 151 and CliNui driver on a laptop on which I have it all.
So far the dongle wd was one of the three ports of my laptop and kinect crashed.
Moving Wd dongle into a different port when you add in Tools/Kinect-PROonly does not crash but gives no sign of life.

So some News from Switzerland

I set up an Asus Barebone Win 7 64 and current system updates, attached USB Keyboard and mouse. New WD 155, Dot net Framework, Direct X, Redist. Update and CL NUI all from the coolux homepage and all the results are still the same :-( Is it maybe a wrong workflow on how the kinect has to be activated before starting up WD Pro?

Haven't been trying it... but have you tried the same drivers that the Coolux people have for the Kinect?...

In your list of your clean install, I don't see a driver for the Kinect.
