Postby runcdfirst » Wed Nov 02, 2011 10:33 am

Hi,

I need to use the snapshot button on a blackmagic hd-sdi capture card.
in the item properties of the display:
with the none card selection i got a black screen. (obviusly)
with the decklink card selected i got a different black screen, like that it recognize something, but still a black screen.

i try the same capture card on PB Players standard and work perfectly.
on the same machine of the widget, the media express program from blackmagic work perfectly.

i try to search something on forum but nothing catch my problem.

the configuration is:
PB WD PRO 3.0 rev 178 & 3.5 rev 215 legacy
Blackmagic decklink sdi card on pci express 1x port.
desktop core I7 manager with nvidia gtx470

any help is appreciated.

regards,
dado

Hi!

Using the blackmagic tool doesn't mean anything because this tool uses another driver than the one provided to windows.
Because of that it can always be different in using the card in different applications.

Do you see any picture in any other video tool inside Widget Designer?

Hi!

Have you tried to use the Widget Designer on the machine on which the card is running inside Pandoras Box?

Please try to uninstall and reinstall the driver of your card.

hi Markus,

i tried to uninstall and reinstall drivers but still the same.
drivers are already the latest version from blackmagic website.

i dont know if it can help but i connect an usb creative camera and widget recognize it perfectly and work like a charm.

i cant try now with the player cause i dont have it on stock here.

now i try to use a Panasonic PS2 with firewire acquisition, same of before, widget recognize it as Microsoft DV camera but still black screen.

in the dxdiag instruments the blackmagic drivers are not whql certified..could be this the problem?

UPDATE: still not working with blackmagic decklink sdi, also on win xp machine.
on the xp machine i use a sweetspot sdi capture card and work, not the best, but work.
i continue to try with other test, eventually i can post results here.

Hi again,

we will have a look into that as well. We can try to reproduce the issue with one of our blackmagic cards.
Hopefully we will find an issue that we can fix it, but most of the times the problem of blackmagic cards are really the drivers.

hi Markus,

i didnt find any solution for this issue.

blackmagic release a new drivers for the card (v. 9.0) but nothing change.
this drivers update just the compatibily with avid media composer.

lets keep in tuoch if we have any news about.
