SetSeqID Schedule advice

Postby Linton9 » Thu Jan 19, 2012 2:34 pm

Hi,

I'm after any advice I can get here...

This is for an architectural installation where one player pro is controlled by widget designer in a scheduled environment with no human intervention.

We have 6 days per week of unique content for 6 weeks. (36 unique days in total)
This was broken up into a different sequence for each day, and and different cue in that sequence depending on what week we're upto.

Ive written a schedule to increment a variable named 'day' every day, which resets if the value is higher than 6. So this value can directly transpose into the SeqID parameter.

I can also write another schedule to increment a 'week' variable once a week, but how do I combine these to variables into a script or into a 'sequence control' output node?

I'm quite happy to make 36 individual chains of nodes, but I think I need an 'and if' filter node.

Any thoughts?

And yes, I wish I had made one sequence per week with each cue being a different day, but its too late now!

Thanks

Hey,

regarding the variables:
Do you want to combine variables to let's say week 2 day 4 as being 24?

You can realize this by using the script "VAdd,'VarName','Var1','Var2'” to combine these variables to one.
As this is only working for string variables as you do not want to get the result 6, you could as well use the week variable as 10, 20, 30...

If you then combine these variables to one, you will get 20+4 equals 24.

The other way would be to use your variables in input nodes and combine them with the text combiner. After that you can write it back into another variable.

Hope this helps,
Markus

Genius! Thanks Markus, I knew a new set of eyes would help here.
I think I got stuck on one method and had tunnel vision.

Hey,

thanks for the compliment. :-)

Welcome in the club. I confused myself and made my own work complicated a few days ago as well.
Try to keep thinking easy, but I know that this is the hardest part on programming all the time!

Cheers,
Markus
