Natural point marker

Postby rubendesnoo » Tue Jun 26, 2012 5:16 pm

Hi Coolux,

I would like to use the natural point system with Widget designer.
I found the input node in WD but don't know how to connect the camera's to WD.

Do I only need the camara's or should I use the OptiTrack sofware to communicate with WD?

regards

Hi everybody,

The Motion tracking system from Natural Point is named Optitrak
They offer a software to track all values and this one is called Tracking Tools.

Our Widget Designer Pro has a Input Node called " Natural Point Tracking Marker".
At the moment this one can track all XYZ data coming on from the Tracking Tool Software.

We are working on the Rigid Body Rotation values, so that these ones are working too.

Best regards,

Hi Martina,

I'm trying to connect these two systems, but I have two small and simple questions:

- What ip-adress should the Widgets PC have?
- What ip-adress should the Optitrack PC have?
- Are there any settings in optitrack that needs to be edited to get these network data?
- Whitch protocol will be streamed from optitrack to WD? (VRPN, TrackD or NatNet?)(This can help me configuring this software)

best Regards

Hi Ruben,

I assume you have seen the info in the node.

The sending computer (client) has to have the shown IP address.
We are using the NatNet as the other protocols are not from the manufacturer.

Hope this helps.

The computers can have any ip address as long as they are in the same range.

The IP given in the node is a UDP multi-cast address. It is not addressing a specific computer. Basically it just sends the information out into the network and any computer can grab it. There is no error correction or feedback with UDP.

Natural Point sends the data to the multi-cast address and Widget picks it up by tuning into that address.
