GSM for SMS input

Postby cyeary » Sat Oct 06, 2012 7:59 pm

Hi All,

I was wondering if there is a list of GSM devices that work well with the SMS input for widget designer. I am looking at purchasing something to do some testing.

Thanks

Hi Cyeary,

unfortunately I do not have a list of devices right now. I know, that it works well with "old" Nokia phones and an RS-connection cable.
Definitely there are as well USB-GSM-models which work directly. I am pretty sure, that there are guys around here, which have used some one them.

Hi,

I've used a "T-Mobile web 'n' walk stick" which is an USB UMTS device produced by Huawei i think. (http://www.t-mobile.de/meinhandy/1,1409 ... -_,00.html)
I think it should work with all of these USB UMTS devices since its driver creates a COM port for it but can not surely confirm this since I've only done some tests for my own with that T-Mobile device 2 years ago.

Hope that helps you getting a little bit closer to find a device.
