Image capture and reload

Postby nickdiacre » Wed Nov 07, 2012 3:00 pm

Hi folks,

Just wondering if you an help me with a setup, any advice...

The gist is that we want a person's photograph to be taken by a pressure pad [easy enough to achieve], but then the photo to be loaded into a folder which is monitored by PB [or widget designer].

One of the PB server outputs will display a grid of say 16 tiles, and each time a new image appears in the folder, it applies the image to the next tile.

Is this possible? Does anybody have a good idea as to how I could do this, I've had a quick look through widget designer scripts- I'm sure I can get a folder full of preset stills to work this way, but only when the assets were preloaded into the Manager- is there a way to add assets using widget designer?

Another approach would be to use a Live HDSDI feed and capture a freeze frame from the feed when it is triggered, but again, I can't see an obvious approach in widget deisgner...

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Regards,

Nick

Hi Nick,

as you have many different approaches, you will get many different answers.

ResourceAddFileFromLocal,FilePath - would be the way to add content. By clicking a button you can add the new file which normally will increase its number, so it is easy for you to know the name.

The more easier way is to use any kind of video input such as WebCam, SDI, PhotoCamera with a livestream and use the VideoSnapshot from within the buttons. This feature will generate a screenshot and directly send it over to Pandoras Box via the network.

Depending on your programming you can do it 16 times or as often as you want to.
Using the pressure pad, as it is a sensor input, you need to use the Widget Designer Pro as well as for the video snapshot.

Hi,

if you look for pressure sensors which are integrated in Widget Designer PRO you can use the following Phidgets components:

Interface Kit 8/8/8 http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?product_id=1018
FlexiForce pressure sensor for example this one: http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?product_id=3102
and to connect the FlexiForce sensor to the Interface Kit you also need the FlexiForce adapter: http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?product_id=1120
