I'd be interested in finding out about Widgets as well. What are they? How to use them, etc.
Sincerely,

Definatly a useful tool. I have already used it on a stand alone show... set it up and the client can easily drive the content/timeline AFTER I have programmed it. :)

Well Olli, now you know...
But Jan... I should have asked you this today, I had another question about the Widget Designer I forgot about until now.
If I have several devices in my Device Tree, such as 20 moving lights, can I address them to a button like I could in visual basic or on a Grand MA: fixture# 1,1 thru 1,20?
Or do I have to type in 1,1 1,2 1,3 and so on?

Thank you

Hello Justyn,

I talked with Jan and he told me that there is no "THRU" or anything similar right now.
But we like your idea and it is on the Feature List for one of the next releases.

That sounds great. It's really more of a luxery than anything.
As for what I use the Widget Designer for, mainly stand alone units.
When I was in Germany I had the Widget set up in a show setting on 2 Media Player Pros.
I had the first 2 layers set up on the time line - a play - pause and skip cue feature for the time line. And layer 3 and 4 were set up with clips, speed, opacity, FX and colour control.
It was simple enough that all the client had to do was turn the machines on and just either push play or select a clip, position and effect with the touch screen.

It's perfect how flexable it is, you can either make it unblelievably simple, or increadibly complex.

I am definaly looking forward to the Pro version of this.

Cheers
